welcome

Welcome to the website of the Humanitarian Centre, a Cambridge based hub organisation that 'thinks local and acts global', sharing complementary resources and skills to achieve more than the sum of its parts. Read about our vision and mission , or visit our members' websites to the right. A calendar of events is available here.

Participation in the Humanitarian Centre is open to all initiatives in the Cambridge area that seek to relieve suffering, whether working internationally or locally, focusing upon international or local relief or development activities, and who abide by the Red Cross Code of Conduct.

Read about Humanitarian Centre and member activities in our August newsletter.

Learn more about how global trade patterns affect development with our 10-week evening course: "Making Poverty History: Issues of Debt and Trade". Click here to find out more, or contact us.

A number of lectures on humanitarian themes are now available through the website - click here to listen.

There are many ways of getting involved in local international relief and development initiatives - start by visiting the volunteer opportunities webpage, or visit our member websites down the side of the page.
